Actor Al Pacino, 82, has said partly jokingly and partly seriously that he would like young Timothée Chalamet to play policeman Vincent Hanna, a role he gave birth to in the film. Heat (Fire against fire) in 1995, if ever a second part will be made, because he considers himself a “wonderful” actor.
Pacino, who together with Robert De Niro presented the 4K version of the legendary police tape at the Tribeca festival, thus answered a question from the interview moderator, and then specified that the idea of having to choose his replacement seemed a “strange” request.

He also asked the audience occupying the seats of the United Place New York theater to give their suggestions, in front of which, surprisingly, the proposal that was shouted the loudest was that of the English singer Harry Styles.

At the moment, no sequels have been announced. Heat – a film that hasn’t received major award nominations, but has become an icon of its genre – but director Michael Mann will release the novel on August 9 Heat 2.
It is a book that, according to panel moderator Bilge Ebiri, is both a sequel and a prequel following the life of thief Neil McCauley (De Niro) and that of the detective who chased him across Los Angeles.

Acting with De Niro
One of the most iconic scenes in the nearly 3-hour film is when the criminal and the lawman meet face to face for coffee and greet each other, promising that if they meet again they will kill each other.
Both De Niro, who is 78, and Pacino, have pointed out that they did not try that scene – which was recorded with three cameras: two over the actors’ shoulders and one in profile – to make it “purer”.

Additionally, Pacino compared acting with De Niro to “playing tennis”, as the actor is always quick to respond and, with his great performance, doesn’t force “the ball to hit the net”.
In this six-minute long scene, it was the first time the two performers acted opposite each other, nearly two decades later. The Godfather IIa film with both protagonists, but in which they never shared any scenes.

Pacino also shared anecdotes that happened to him in the role of Michael Corleone, the son of Don Vito Corleone, laughing that after seeing the film for the first time he gave notes to Francis Coppola and the director fired him with an insult.

The Tribeca festival celebrated the 50th anniversary of the famous trilogy The Godfather with a special screening last Thursday.
This year’s edition of the New York Film Festival features 111 films – 88 world premieres – made by directors from 40 countries, more than half of them women, “non-white” people or those who identify with the LGBTQ community, a variety of filmmakers whose goal is “to be a reflection of the community,” according to the organization.
