Tini, María Becerra and Ca7riel appear in 5 categories. Knowing Russia and La K’onga compete in 4 categories, and those with 2 nominations are Nathy Peluso, Dillom, Bizarrap and Nicki Nicole.

The contenders for gold are Ca7riel (for his album El disko), Andrés Calamaro (for God raises them), Nicki Nicole (for Part of me), Escalandrum (for 100) and Abel Pintos (for The love of my life ).

In Song of the Year, 10 finalists compete for the statuette with an important presence of duets: Knowing Russia (Was late), Tini & María Becerra (Lie to me), Teresa Parodi (Different), Trueno (Dance Crip), Nathy Peluso (Mafiosa), Palo Pandolfo (Tu Amor), Tiago PZK & Lit Killah (Among us “), Pedro Aznar (Reverdece), Abel Pintos & Camila (Da me, con te) and La Konga & Nahuel Pennisi (Parallel Universe) .

which will be held on August 23 in one of the most impressive spaces that the City of Buenos Aires has for music, and which will be announced in a few days, when the details of the broadcast are announced.

With a marked diversity of genres and styles, in Album of the Year, the highest category of the award that rewards Argentine record productions released in 2021, exponents of rock, folklore, urban music, trap and jazz compete against each other.

“This will be a very important edition for the Gardel Awards. We have had a record of nominations with more than 4,300 works from all over the country, which shows us that music is more active than ever in Argentina. There is a lot of expectation for this return to face to face and for this possibility of celebrating the talent of our artists together “says Diego Zapico, CAPIF manager.

The material received during the application phase is listened to carefully by the members of the review commissions, who have the task of adapting it to the relevant categories according to the genres and styles of the works presented, to then be made available to the jury and start the process of vote.

After two entirely online editions (2020 and 2021) this year, the Gardel Awards are preparing an impressive gala with musical performances that will begin to be announced shortly.

The Gardel Awards had their first edition in 1999, in a gala hosted by Jorge Guinzburg and with only 5 categories. In that year Sandro was the artist to obtain the first Gold Gardel in history.

Since then, the Prize has accompanied the great development of Argentine music in over 20 years, incorporating new elements and constantly updating itself. In 2020 the categories divided by gender were unified, leaving behind the segmentation of male / female artists. In recent galas, international artists have also begun to be included in musical performances (Anitta, Carlos Rivera, Pablo Alborán, Lila Downs), in a clear sign of growth of the prize which (positioned as the most important in the country) seeks to expand boundaries to reach a new audience.
