Russia on Thursday urged the UK’s ambassador to Moscow, Deborah Bronnert, to “strongly” protest British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s constant comments about the country’s government.

Bronnert was called in for “clearly malicious comments by British officials regarding Russia, its leader, officials and the Russian people,” according to the State Department.

According to Russian media, Moscow complained that the “offensive rhetoric” by the British authorities was “unacceptable”. Among the statements that angered the Kremlin most are accusations that the Russians want to use nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine.

Johnson has sided with Kiev since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24 and has one of the most active governments in imposing sanctions against the government of Vladimir Putin, alongside the European Union and the United States.

And since the weekend, the British prime minister has handed out some sentences against the Russian president that had a bad effect in Moscow.

At the G7 meeting, Johnson mocked photos of Putin showing off topless, joked with other heads of government and state, and asked if they should do without their jackets and T-shirts “to show we’re tougher”.

In an interview where the meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was already interrupted, the British said, “If Putin was a woman, I don’t believe he would have gone to this madness in a macho war. occupation and violence.” as you do”.
