The musician Pedro Pablo Garcia Caffiwhich integrated the Quartet Zupay and was director of Colon Theaterdied at the age of 77.
Stage manager, producer and cultural administrator, he turned to popular music and classical music as conductor of the Camerata Bariloche, and also as general manager of the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra.
García Caffi was general and artistic director of the Argentino de La Plata theater and general and artistic director of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.

García Caffi took over general management on February 12, 2009 and has led the Colón Theater since its reopening on May 24, 2010, on the eve of the Bicentenary of the Argentine Republic, after a thorough restoration and modernization process carried out under Mauricio Macri’s management.
He has been one of the longest running directors of the Colón Theater in history, since he resigned in January 2015.
His successful career
Born in Buenos Aires in September 1944, in 1966 he was the founder of the Cuarteto Zupay, a group he joined and directed for twenty-five years. With the Quartet he has made countless international tours, winning prizes and gold records.
Cuarteto Zupay was one of the most successful groups of the post-dictatorship years, recording thirteen albums between 1981 and 1989. In 1991, after 25 years of career, the group disbanded.
