Missing less and less at the premiere of Holy Avoid, one of the most anticipated series of the year. Based on Tomás Eloy Martínez’s bestseller of the same name, the new seven-episode fiction will be released on Star + on Tuesday 26 July.
Starring Natalia Oreiro as Eva Duarte de Perón, she tells the mysterious story behind the wandering, embalmed corpse of the iconic Argentine political figure and first lady, hidden for 16 years and turned into a legend.
Colombian Rodrigo García and Argentine Alejandro Maci are the directors of the series, based on a screenplay by Marcela Guerty and Pamela Rementería, well-known writers of local aerial strips. Holy Avoid It is produced by Salma Hayek.
“Santa Evita” is based on the novel by Tomás Eloy Martínez.

The plot revolves around five central characters. Besides Oreiro as Evita, Ernesto Alterio plays Colonel Moore Koenig, Diego Velazquez is the journalist Mariano Vázquez, the Catalan Francesco Orella (Blackbirds) plays Dr. Pedro Ara e Darío Grandinetti played the role of Juan Domingo Perón.

Eva Duarte de Peron (Natalia Oreiro)
An emblematic figure of 20th century politics and an iconic female character in Latin American history. Argentine political leader and actress. She met General Juan Domingo Perón in 1944 and married him the following year.
In 1946 she became the first lady of Argentina and was president of the Peronist Women’s Party and the Eva Perón Foundation. In 1952 she was officially declared the Spiritual Head of the Nation.

He was a key political figure in Argentina until his death of cancer on July 26, 1952. His body was held in waiting to be buried for three years for the construction of a mausoleum which was never built. In 1955, the army overthrew President Perón and hid his body for 16 years.with the intention of avoiding it becoming a weapon against the regime.
In the series, the character of Eva is portrayed at different moments in her life: as a child, as a teenager and from youth to death.
Lieutenant Colonel Moore Koenig (Ernesto Alterio)
“Santa Evita”: Héctor Alterio’s son plays Lieutenant Colonel Moore Koenig.
Intelligence specialist who, in November 1955, after the overthrow of Perón and under the instructions of the new army in power, became the responsible and in charge of making the embalmed body of Eva Duarte de Perón disappearstarting a macabre and long tour of the corpse that ends up haunting him with her.
Aide to Evita during her heyday, he was commissioned by President Perón to “spy” on the First Lady during her illness. This allows you to get to know her in many of her facets and mainly in her intimacy.
In the series, the character is represented for 24 years, from 1947 to 1971.
Mariano Vazquez (Diego Velazquez)
“Santa Evita”: Diego Velázquez is the journalist Mariano Vázquez.
Charismatic journalist and writer, 40, who works for a major newspaper. In 1971 he was editor-in-chief of the newspaper commissions him to investigate the return of Eva Duarte’s body by Peron to Juan Domingo Peron. Despite his initial resistance, Vázquez becomes deeply involved in the research, in the story of Eve and in the path of her body.
He is very passionate about his work and stubborn about his desires, but this investigation leads him to get involved, putting his life at risk. This is a character who is not in the book and is assumed to embody a sort of alter ego of Tomás Eloy Martínez.
Dr. Pedro Ara (Francesc Orella)
“Santa Evita”: Francesc Orella is the Spanish doctor Pedro Ara.
Spanish doctor in charge of the embalming of Eva’s body, with the intention of being exhibited in a gigantic mausoleum. Anatomy is his passion. Throughout the journey, he is in charge of examining and maintaining the conservation of the body.
Ara worked for three years on the preservation of the body at the headquarters of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT). He considers it her masterpiece and feels that she is her “Michelangelo”, all feelings that then make it difficult for him to separate from her.
Juan Domingo Peron as Dario Grandinetti
“Santa Evita”: Darío Grandinetti is Juan Domingo Perón.
Argentine political and military leader, three times president of the Argentine nation and founder of Peronism, an important popular movement in the history of Argentina. He is one of the most remembered political figures in the history of Latin America.
The illness and death of his wife Eva had a significant impact on Perón, both personally and politically. Eva and Juan Domingo Perón formed the most emblematic couple of Argentine politics of the last century.
In the series, the character is portrayed at different moments in his life: from when he met Eva Perón in 1946 at the age of 51, until the body’s return to Madrid in 1971 at the age of 76.
