The Turuleca hen, the character of the song of Gaby, Fofo and Miliki that we have sung and sung for generations, is embodied in this animated film, a co-production with Spain, which opens for the local winter holidays, with the voices of William Francesca, Flavia Palmiero and Sofia Morandi.

Turuleca is not a laying hen here as it was in the lyrics of the song. Well, when the movie “Turu” begins, she can’t lay eggs and is sold by an unscrupulous person to Isabel, a retired former music teacher who has a farm.

But, to his new owner’s surprise, Turu will not only speak, but also sing. Everything is fine until Isabel suffers an accident and loses her memory. The ambulance takes her to the “big city”, and Turu ends up in a circus, whose owner is about to lose him if he doesn’t pay what he owes Armando Tramas (!).

At first Turuleca cannot lay eggs, as she could in the song, but she talks and sings.

The son of the circus owner discovers the goose that lays the golden eggs: Turu becomes a phenomenon and Armando, as much as he begins to recover the money, will want it for himself.

More songs

Before anyone says it Dumbo -Turuleca was bullied in the wagon before they sold it, and as the Disney elephant becomes the main act of a circus- more songs will be added, some of the famous Spanish clowns, like that of Hi Don Pepito Hi Don Josean updated version of Macarenaand more.

The animation is fine, the film won the Goya for best animated film in 2021 and the structure is neat, because the film is aimed at children – no multiverse-, and if they are on the farm, they are on the farm, then they go to the circus, from there to the “big city” and so on, without jumps in time or place that complicate anything.
