From Friday 12 to Saturday 20 August, teacher Martha Argerich will be the protagonist of a series of concerts that will evoke the spirit of her legendary festivals at the Teatro Colón.

Special guests will be present, including prestigious conductor Charles Dutoit, actress Annie Dutoit-Argerich, their daughter, actors Peter Lanzani and Joaquín Furriel, and pianists Sergei Babayan and Dong Hyek Lime, among others.

A cycle of luxury

The opening night will be held on Friday 12 August at 8pm. The prestigious pianist will be accompanied by Charles Dutoit, who will perform a repertoire consisting of pieces by Ravel and Berlioz at the helm of the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra.

On Saturday 13th August at 8pm and Sunday 14th August at 5pm there will be a program that will see Martha Argerich playing the Match no. 2 in C minor, BWV 826 by Bach.

Then, in a second part, it will be the turn of The story of a soldier by Stravinsky, in a version that will have the musical direction of Charles Dutoit, direction and dramaturgy by Rubén Szuchmacher and special performances by Annie Dutoit, Joaquín Furriel, Peter Lanzani and Cumelén Sanz.

On Sunday 14th August at 8:30 pm the Armenian-American pianist Sergei Babayan will give a recital consisting of pieces by Bach, Busoni, Zlabys, Schubert, Liszt, Rachmaninov and Schumann.

On Tuesday 16 August at 8 pm, Martha Argerich and Sergei Babayan will offer a two-piano presentation led by works by Prokofiev and Mozart.

Dong Hyek Lim, the South Korean pianist, will be the protagonist of the evening scheduled for Wednesday 17 August at 8 pm, where the works of Franz Schubert predominate.

Enrique Arturo Diemecke will conduct the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra on Thursday 18 August, again at 8 pm, with the presence of Dong Hyek Lim again, this time as a soloist. The music program will have the Concert n. 1 in B flat minor, op. 23 by Tchaikovsky and the Symphony n. 8 in G major op. 88 by Dvorak.

The big closing of this series of concerts will be on Saturday 20 August at 20:00. There, the Stable Orchestra of the Teatro Colón will participate under the direction of Luis Gorelik along with Martha Argerich and Dong Hyek Lim as soloists and Annie Dutoit as narrator.

Tickets for the concert are on sale and can be purchased online through www.teatrocolon.org.ar.

Also in person at the ticket office of the Teatro Colón (Tucumán 1171) from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 20:00 and on Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00, and at the Tu Entrada office which operates in Calle Viamonte 560 (Local 5) from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:00
