With a luxurious dinner for trade journalists, Telefe presented who is the mask, a reality format which none other than Natalia Oreiro will conduct and which is expected to air in one of the first two weeks of September.

The format is currently the best-selling among television networks of the world and is equally successful.

24 very famous people (celebrities who can be actors, singers, athletes or any business, but who must be well known) stage a fully disguised show and are judged by a hundred people in the audience, who decide who should leave the competition. Nobody knows who these participants are.

The driver (in this case, the driver Natalia Oreiro) and his four “investigators” (who here will be Wanda Nara, Roberto Moldavsky, Karina La Princesita and Lizy Tagliani) also ignore the identity of the participants. You will only know them when they leave the game. Only when the audience chooses who comes out will they take off the mask.

Among all, as the program goes on, they speculate and will try to generate clues to know the identity of the participants.

And believe it or not, at the time of disqualification of the participant, the audience must leave the studio to not even see him in the recording, but only when the program goes on the air.

Worldwide

Until now, who is the mask It has had editions in the United States, Spain, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, among other countries.

As seen in the trailer prepared by Telefe, the production is huge. The characters appear disguised as toucans, peacocks or Vikings – to name a few – and it is impossible to know who they are. Likewise, there is a protocol for entry and exit from the shooting studio which includes colorful cars and different security guards per participant.

Of course, all participants involved must sign a strict confidentiality agreement in which they undertake not to disclose their participation in the program. According to Guillermo Pendino, VP of Programming and Content at Paramount Hub Latam, even attendees don’t know who they’re racing against. For the format to work, secrecy must be total.

The format of "Who

The format of “Who’s the Mask” is seen in many countries around the world.

Everything you don’t know (but you already know)

In the presentation on Wednesday 10 August, both Oreiro and Pendino and the program’s executive producer, Martín Borrillo, had to ask insistent questions about the group of reporters. Obviously, the most requested was, at least, the name of any protagonist. But nothing could be known and there was a request that we all comply with an anti-spoiler group.

It’s that, they insisted, the secret of not knowing who the players are is the basis of the whole game.

What has been revealed is that the program will run daily in prime time, although it is unknown if it will run Monday through Friday or Monday through Thursday.

The rest of the things that are not yet knownbut of which we will know shortly, are: the duration of the program – hour, hour and a half or two -, how many broadcasts there will be (following 24 participants it can be deduced that it will last about two months), when will they start recording and what it is the prize – if there is one – that will take the winner.

Another known fact is that the studio where the cycle will be recorded (which will air very close to the recording date) is that it is isolated from the rest of the Telefe studios and that it is not included in the camera vision system that exists between them.

Also that the voices of the participants can be altered – intoned is the technical term – so as not to give any kind of clue.

It is clear that this edition of Who is the Mask will take place in Argentina, where gossip programs and the entertainment itself are usually not very fanatical about secrets. But in this case, the whole program depends on its maintenance. We will see what happens. But the truth is that what has been seen and what is projected appears to be good and new.
