American actress Denise Dowse, known for her roles in the series beverly hills and more recently Insecure, died at the age of 64. His sister Tracey Dowse announced it Sunday on CNN, confirming information published on the actress’s Instagram account. A week ago, Tracey Dowse announced that her sister was in the hospital, in a coma with severe meningitis.
Within beverly hills, a landmark series from the 1990s, she played the supporting but recurring role of Yvonne Teasley, assistant principal at the high school the main characters attend. Strict but fair, she had become a role model for Brandon, Brenda, Steve or even Kelly, the heroes of the cult show.

For the past several years, she has played Molly’s psychologist on Insecure, series created by Issa Rae and broadcast by HBO. Throughout her 30-year career, she has appeared in many successful series such as Seinfeld, buffy the vampire slayer, bones, new amsterdam, Grey’s Anatomy… In the cinema we also saw her in the biopic of Ray Charles, Rayalongside Jamie Foxx, or Requiem for a Dream by Darren Aronofsky.
