Reveal first image of the prequel to ‘The Hunger Games’

“The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird” will tell the story of the youth of Coriolanus Snow, the dictator at the center of the Suzanne Collins saga.

Lionsgate unveiled on Tuesday a first image of The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird, franchise prequel The Hunger Games inspired by the homonymous novel written by Suzanne Collins.

This film, directed by Francis Lawrence, already the director of Switched on (2013) and both parts of the revolt (2014-2015), takes place during the 10th Hunger Games, 64 years before Katniss Everdeen’s story.

If little information about the casting had been revealed until then, the snapshot shared by Lionsgate offers a first look at the main characters of this prequel: Tom Blyth as Coriolanus Snow, the tyrannical future leader of the dystopian nation, and Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray. Baird.

Viola Davis joins the lineup
