COVID-19: Quebec reports 38 additional deaths and 24 more hospitalizations

Public health in Quebec reported Tuesday 38 new coronavirus-related deaths and identified 2,405 people hospitalized, 24 more than the day before.

There were 88 people in intensive care, an increase of 13 from the previous day.

According to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), 243 more COVID-19 patients were admitted to the hospital in the past 24 hours, while 219 patients were discharged.

Since the pandemic began, 14,778 people have died in Quebec as a result of COVID-19.

Authorities also report 2,909 new cases, for a total of 1,026,345 people infected in Quebec.

However, the number of cases listed does not represent the situation, as access to screening centers is limited to client priorities.

the Ministry of Health and Social Servicesreporting 1,098 active outbreaks, reporting 18,765 tests performed, for a positivity rate of 15.3%.

Evolution of COVID-19

As for vaccination, 87% of Quebecers over 5 years of age received two doses of the vaccine.

On the other hand, the rate stops at 54% for those who received the booster dose.
