According to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), 99 more COVID-19 patients were admitted to the hospital in the past 24 hours, while 108 patients were discharged.

In addition, 35 deaths were added to the death toll, which has risen to 15,178 since the pandemic began in Quebec.

Quebec also listed 772 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the number of confirmed cases in Quebec to 1,053,409 since February 2020.

However, the number of cases identified does not represent the situation because access to screening centers is only possible for groups considered priority.

According to authorities, 648 self-reported rapid tests have been recorded in the past 24 hours, including 558 that were positive.

At least 6,463 health care workers were absent for COVID-19-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, waiting for results, etc.).

Vaccination

In Quebec, 12,740 doses were administered, or 11,993 in the last 24 hours and 747 before May 9, for a total of 19,674,426 doses administered in Quebec. Outside Quebec, a total of 328,774 doses were administered, for a cumulative total of 20,003,200 doses received by Quebecers.
