COVID-19: 15 further died and hospitalized in Manitoba

According to Manitoba’s latest weekly report, 15 more people died from COVID-19 in the past week, May 22-28, bringing the total death toll since the pandemic began in 1980.

Hospitals are on the rise since the province has 120, compared to 112 last week. In these hospitals, 9 more people were admitted to intensive care.

The province recorded 416 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, down from 537 confirmed cases last week.

Manitoba had 226 cases in the Winnipeg health region, 69 in the region Prairie Mountain46 in the South Health region, 38 in the North health region and 37 in the Inter-Lakes and East region.

The average for lab tests continues to decline, with 621 tests administered compared to 704 last week. The positivity rate for laboratory tests was 13%.

These statistics are not considered to fully represent the truth, as they do not include the results of the rapid examination as well as cases with no symptoms in the territory.
