COVID-19: 9 new deaths and drop in hospitals in Saskatchewan

According to Saskatchewan’s new weekly report, the province recorded nine COVID-19-related deaths and 364 new cases of the disease between May 22 and May 28.

Of the new cases recorded, 109 were seen in Saskatoon, 73 in the northern region of the province and 67 in Regina.

Between May 26 and June 1, 232 Saskatchewanians with COVID-19 were hospitalized, down from the previous week when there was 258. intensive care.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is also reporting three new outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care homes and seniors ’residences across the province.

The vaccination campaign against COVID-19 continues with 7,239 doses of vaccines given in the week of May 22-28.
