The man who killed four people Wednesday at a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is targeting the doctor who operated on his back and he believes is responsible for his pain, police said Thursday.
Michael Louis entered Saint Francis Hospital on Wednesday carrying a handgun and a semi-automatic rifle, the latest murder in a country still marked by the massacre at a primary school in Uvalde.
In addition to his doctor, the shooter killed another doctor, a receptionist, a patient and injured others before committing suicide, police said at a press conference.
Michael Louis underwent surgery on the back of Dr Preston Phillips on May 19th.
After being discharged from the hospital on May 24, the patient had several times to call complaining of pain and wanting to receive additional treatmentssaid Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin.
Michael Louis blamed his doctor for his illness, and officers found a letter to him making it clear that he came with the intent to kill Dr. Phillips and anyone in his wayadded Mr. Franklin.
On Wednesday afternoon, before going to the hospital, the suspect bought a semi-automatic rifle Type AR-15he continued.
This weapon, as powerful as the controversy, was used at Robb primary school in Uvalde, where 19 children and 2 teachers were killed by bullets by a teenager on May 24.
Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday called for a ban on assault rifles, which are often used in massacres that regularly cover the news in America.
