Further decrease in hospitals for COVID-19 in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan continues to see a significant decrease in COVID-19-related hospitals.

According to the province’s latest weekly report, 187 people were hospitalized on June 8, 2022.

This is a significant decrease from the previous week, where there were 232 cases. The number of people receiving intensive care, however, increased from 6 to 10 over the same period, an increase of 40%.

Saskatoon and Regina recorded the highest numbers, with 78 and 55 new cases respectively. There are 43 new cases in the north of the province.

Saskatchewan recorded 10 COVID-19-related deaths between May 29 and June 4.

The number of new cases confirmed in the laboratory also decreased. Of the nearly 5,890 tests, 285 people tested positive for COVID-19, compared to 364 last week.

Health authorities reported 9 new outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care centers and seniors ’residences, up from three previously.
