Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy imposed sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as 34 other ministers and high-ranking officials of the Moscow regime, on Thursday, for the war that began with the occupation of Ukrainian territory on February 24.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Defense Ministers Sergey Choigu and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov are also on the list of those sentenced.
The decree signed by Zelesnky imposes restrictions on those who are sanctioned, such as asset blocking; limitation of commercial and financial activities, from transactions to capital transfer or sale of property; Technology transfer; issuance of a visa or entry into the territory of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian president continues to insist on meeting with Putin face-to-face, but the Russian government assures that negotiations abandoned by Kyiv, according to Moscow, must be restarted first.
Russia believes that the later Ukraine returns to the negotiating table, the more fragile its position will be as Moscow’s troops continue to conquer new lands, as well as all the southern Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Today, Zelensky even decided on sanctions against 236 universities and higher education institutions, in which he suspended all exchanges, contacts and cooperation.
