More than 141,000 people who are immunocompromised or over the age of 60 have received their second booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. The Haute Autorité de Santé recommends broadening the public interested in this dose.

While France is experiencing the seventh wave of the Covid-19 epidemic, more and more French people are deciding to make their second booster vaccination against the virus. More than 141,000 people received their fourth dose on Tuesday, a record since the start of the vaccination campaign for this recall, according to the latest figures published by Public Health France. The seven-day average stands at more than 91,000 vaccinations, up from 77,800 the previous week.

Only immunocompromised people and people over 60 years of age who received their last dose of vaccine more than three months ago are eligible for this second booster. 28.5% of eligible people aged 60 to 79 received this fourth dose, again according to data from Public Health France. They were 37.1% among those over 80 years of age and 44.1% among residents of nursing homes.

The High Health Authority (HAS) recommended this Wednesday to extend the administration of a second booster dose to pregnant women, those under 60 years of age at risk of severe forms and people in regular contact with immunosuppressed or vulnerable people.
