No further deaths associated with COVID-19 were regretted by Ottawa Public Health (OPS) on Monday. However, health authorities report two more in Eastern Ontario and one in Outaouais.
502 people were infected with the virus over the weekend in Ottawa, but this number is nonetheless underestimated due to testing capacity.
OPS also reports two fewer hospitals associated with COVID-19 than Friday, for a total of 17. Another person is in intensive care.
In all, since the health crisis began, 765 disease -related deaths have occurred in the federal capital.
Currently, 1,857 cases are active in Ottawa, and 39 outbreaks persist in institutional settings, according to OPS.
Meanwhile, the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) is reporting two more deaths since the update on Friday, bringing the total number to 219 disease-related deaths since March 2020.
Six people were also hospitalized in the territory of EOHUand 18 outbreaks continue.
Across Ontario, 100,000 to 120,000 people are believed to be infected every day today, according to the Ontario Scientific Advisory Group at COVID-19. Another death at Outaouais

On Monday, 87% of Quebecers aged 5 and over received 2 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19, and 53% received 3, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Services.
The 4th dose of vaccine for COVID-19 is now available for all Quebecers age 60 and older.
