An octogenarian driver was killed after a fatal collision on Jules-Verne Avenue in the Sainte-Foy sector on Thursday morning.

The Quebec City Police Service (SPQV) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident involving the two vehicles.

All hypotheses were analyzed, including where the driver may have suffered discomfort before colliding with another vehicle, confirmed spokesman for SPVQ, David Pelletier.

The collision occurred on Jules-Verne Avenue near the ramp toward Highway 40, around 10 p.m.

The second driver, in his 40s, suffered nervous shock and minor injuries.

The 80-year-old victim was taken to the hospital, unconscious, and died there.

Investigators and forensic identification technicians went to the scene to establish the circumstances surrounding this road accident.

This sector of Jules-Verne avenue is closed to traffic to allow them to work.
