The Brazilian team will face the Japanese on June 6 in Tokyo in a preparatory friendly for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) reported on Wednesday.

The match will be played at the Tokyo National Stadium at 7:20 p.m. Japanese time (10:20 a.m. GMT), four days after the friendly in which Brazil will face South Korea in this Asian country, also in preparation for the “canarinha” for the World Cup.
It will be Brazil’s second game against Japan since coach Adenor Leonardo Bacchi ‘Tite’ took charge of the five-time world champion team and one of the favorites for the title in Qatar.
In the previous game against Japan, played in France in 2017, Brazil won 3-1 with goals from Neymar, Marcelo and Gabriel Jesus.
They are looking for a great European rival
Despite the fact that Tite has insisted on the need to play friendlies with European teams and that they are among the best in the world to perfect Brazil’s preparation for the World Cup that begins next November, the CBF has not yet managed to agree on a match with rivals of that size.
For now, according to the already known schedule, Brazil will play friendlies against South Korea (June 2), Japan (June 6) and Argentina (June 11), the latter in Melbourne (Australia).
Mexico and Argentina in September
In September, in a new FIFA window for friendlies, Brazil will face Mexico and again Argentina, this last match corresponding to one of the rounds of the South American qualifiers that is pending.
Two months later, on November 14, the Brazilian team will concentrate to prepare for the World Cup and will train until November 19 in a European country, which could be Spain, Italy or England, before traveling to Qatar.
The ‘canarinha’ was framed in Group G of the Qatar World Cup, in which they will have as rivals Serbia (November 24), Switzerland (November 28) and Cameroon (December 2).
Brazil qualified for the World Cup as the leader of South America, undefeated and several days early.
