A one -year -old girl from California, USA, is recovering after being attacked by two family dogs. The girl’s mother stabbed one of the pit bulls dead while trying to save her son.
Family members said the attack by two pit bulls on 1-year-old Ruby Ann Cervantes on Sunday night lasted no more than three or four minutes. The girl’s mother, grandmother and aunt were injured while trying to prevent the attack.
“The dog grabbed her by the foot, and I had to pull out her teeth,” said Margaret Morales, Ruby’s grandmother. “It bit my hand, and my hand was pretty open,” the lady told the local newspaper.
The girl was attacked by two family pit bulls.
Jaime Morales, Ruby’s mother, later he took a knife and killed one of the dogs.
“She or my daughter, so I chose my daughter. I did what I had to do to protect my daughter,” Jaime Morales told KNBC.
Ruby was bitten on the leg, ankle and shoulder, according to her grandmother. He received several stitches and underwent two surgeries, including one for a broken hip. He is expected to be placed in the intensive care unit after the surgeries.
One of the pit bulls was stabbed and the other was euthanized.
