A Laval family died in a road accident in Ontario

In an interview with Radio-Canada, Anik Legault, 38, said he felt the human tenderness of the people at the scene of the accident, but also at Brockville General Hospital.

I’m not ready yet, but one day I promised myself that I would come back and meet some important people there.he says.

On April 18 around 7:30 pm, Anik Legault’s car collided with a semi-trailer truck on Highway 401, in Augusta Township, Eastern Ontario.

The crash happened just east of Brockville, about 100 kilometers south of Ottawa while Anik Legault, his twin brother Erik Legault, his two children Émerik Giroux, 7, Maélie Giroux, 3, as well well that his mother Chantal Dendooven-Legault, 68, was back from a trip to Toronto.

Following the collision, the vehicle driven by Anik Legault rolled several times. Her children and her mother, who were in the background, did not survive.

Three generations under one roof

A week after the tragedy, Ms. Legault to pay tribute to his children and his mother who died in the accident.

The grandparents, Anik, his wife and their children lived together in a multigenerational residence in Laval.

The five occupants of the vehicle involved in the accident took advantage of the Easter holiday to get to Toronto. Together they attend a hockey game marlies from Toronto, visit the Royal Ontario Museum and Ripley’s Aquarium.

Anik’s wife stayed at home to take care of the dog.

In a statement, the police Ontario Provincial (POP) confirms that the investigation is still underway to try to determine the causes of the tragedy.
