Police explain the series of robberies in northwest Montreal

Officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) arrested two individuals suspected of being behind a series of vehicle thefts and thefts from vehicles in the boroughs of Saint-Laurent and Bordeaux-Cartierville.

Ali Bazid and Myriam Forget-Barreck, both 40, were arrested following an investigation into a series of break-ins and thefts committed between April 19 and 27.

According to SPVM, the man and woman entered underground garages in residential areas where they stole items from inside vehicles and from residents ’storage lockers. In some cases, they took advantage of the opportunity to steal vehicles as well.

They were accused of stealing at least two vehicles, money, tires, hubcaps, construction tools, stethoscope, clothing and handbag.
