A young man from Ontario has been arrested and has to face justice on suspicion of terrorism -related activities.

The criminal case against Seth Bertrand, a 19-year-old man from Windsor, states that he allegedly participated in or contributed, directly or indirectly, to the activity of a terrorist group for the purpose of capacity building. of this terrorist group from involvement. in or facilitating a terrorist activity.

The alleged incidents occurred between Feb. 12 and May 2, 2021. These were hate-motivated violations in the Windsor area.

An investigation determined that Seth Bertrand submitted an online application to join a listed terrorist entity, known as the National Socialist Order, and offered his skills to this listed terrorist entity to commit thing for them and performed in this matter.

These allegations were not substantiated in court.

The investigation was led by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET), in collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Counter Terrorism Section and the Windsor Police Service.
