2-1: Scandalous defeat of Real

The toughest defeat of the season in the League casts doubt on Real’s European aspirations. Obviously difficult to digest was the final result against, in the field of a bottom team like Levante that is resurrected. To the chain of calamities, which without seeming to do any harm because there was still time, bothered the Real, was added the aberrant penalty that Alberola Rojas pointed out two minutes from extra time. A set in which Diego Rico protected himself while he broke Pepelu. For the referee it was the maximum penalty, a painful decision by a professional. Melero scored from eleven meters and knocked down Real.

That the first half ended goalless was a miraculous phenomenon. Another one in the Real file. The aim continued to resemble that of a sideshow shotgun. On the opposite side of the rectangle, Remiro opposed the official saints of the season: San Alejandro rescued Imanol’s team twice. As his counterpart Cárdenas dedicated himself to saving Levante, the fast-paced grand prix became a demonstration to the greater glory of the goalkeepers.

So electric was the pulse forged, that Levante and Real seemed like exhalations on the Le Mans circuit. Or in Cheste, which is in Valencia. An archetypal all or nothing of matchday 35, four from the end. When the League becomes incandescent beyond power. This is how these games are taken by the teams that play for everything: the highest echelon in the European zone, Real, and Levante remain.

Remiro with two providential exits, Merino as the protagonist of a personal heads and tails, Silva with the magic that he distributes and the Sorloth-Isak duo took the palm of the street runner in the Real. The wings turned to the wings and the hierarchy of the Real, in number of troops and quality, paved the way for the takeoff towards victory. But the goal was missing again.

And that the chances quadrupled. And they were all clear. Starting with a genius of Isak inside the area to leave Vezo on the ground. The Swede pinched the ball and Cárdenas responded with a huge mitt. It was the 14th minute and a quarter of an hour later, Merino again served a presumed goal on a plate, but Sorloth headed the outer strain of the post. Isak put together a right hand that violently crashed into the crossbar two minutes later, in minute 32. A delicatessen by Silva to cut Rober was the preamble to the opportunity that Gorosabel had to make his debut as a striker at Real. After Cárdenas was overcome, Son saved the side’s shot on the line.

Levante’s two attempts were by Morales, both clamorous and benefited by realistic errors, when the ball came out. Merino handed the ball to the ‘comandante’ in the 44th minute, but Remiro rescued Real on the edge of the area, while Merino knelt in the center of the field, cursing his kit. The succession of arrivals at the goals resulted in an inexplicable zero to zero. Or yes, explainable: a mixture of the inspiration of goalkeepers and the wandering definition of chance generators.

Serious concession and reaction

Even in an offside, two meters and marked, the duster was seen for Real against the opposing goal. Sorloth, the offender, shot at the post in front of Cárdenas. It was not worth the play but it was a new symptom of the pathology.

Zubeldia annulled Morales in the following stampede. Clearance and throw-in in three quarters of the field. At first, there was little to worry about. But Real forgot to defend with intensity and Levante came up against Remiro in two passes, with Dani Gómez alone to combine with Campaña and Miramón, the author of the 1-0. The entire rearguard was shipwrecked in an action whose origin was a throw-in. A serious concession.

La Real reacted, perhaps at least to expect such a reflection due to the hardness of the blows at this point in the championship. Imanol’s men stormed into the local area, Rafinha penetrated with everything, Silva enabled an Isak who shot the crossbar for the second time in the match. He doesn’t break the hex by millimeters. The rejection went to a tremendous Gorosabel, who centered with great precision. Silva followed the trajectory of the ball like a predator and hallelujah, he headed in a quarter after Real had conceded Levante’s goal.

The point that was on the scoreboard was of no use to anyone. The face to face was already extreme from the final quarter hour. Played to slaughter. A siege of Levante’s realistic area ended in a goal disallowed by Roger Martí due to an offside by Morales. Without breathing, Silva was the author of a double internment in the area in two minutes. Rober Pier saved the first with the beaten goalkeeper. Forgive the redundancy.

The height of the night was made to beg until the end, to the chagrin of the Real. The non-existent penalty that Rojas awarded Rico on Pepelu, when the Real side protected himself in a natural posture, opening his arm but without attacking anyone. Melero tricked Remiro and decided a scandalous defeat.
