Jennaye Norris, a police officer for eight years, is the first position of her kind in the Aboriginal police service in Canada, the BTPS.

The Kokomi-Kisomm Aakii project is an initiative by Constable Norris who wants to tackle sexual exploitation: I have information about Blood Tribe women who have been removed from the reservation of non -Country people. [Elles étaient] taken to cities like Lethbridge, Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton before returning or not.

[Le trafic d’êtres humains] has been around forever, he says, but unfortunately we don’t have anyone who specializes in this area .

From now on, Jennaye Norris needs to raise public awareness, train front-line police officers and lead sexual exploitation investigations.
