On Wednesday night, Roy-Boudreau’s friends and family members will gather at the Coronation Park pavilion in Bathurst to mark the anniversary of his disappearance, May 11, 2021.
That morning, around 7:30 am, he was seen riding in a gray Ford Ranger van. In August, the Bathurst police chief said the investigation pointed to a homicide.
Maggie Lavigne said it has been a difficult year for the family and community.

A complex investigation
Initially, the investigation was led by investigators from the Bathurst Police Force.
A few weeks after Madison disappeared, they linked the case of the arrest of a 42-year-old man to other cases.
Officers will not say if he is someone interested in the investigation. So far, the man has not been charged in connection with Madison’s disappearance.
Last month, the RCMP
took up the investigation after determining that the location of his disappearance was outside the jurisdiction of the Bathurst Police Force.Corporal Hans Ouellette indicates that efforts to find the girl are ongoing.
