Women pushed on Toronto subway tracks filed a $ 1 million lawsuit

A 39-year-old woman pushed on subway tracks at Toronto’s Bloor-Yonge station last month has sued the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) for $ 1 million.

Shamsa Al-Balushi was seriously injured when he was pushed into the tracks on the night of April 17. He survived by hitting the subway platform to avoid being hit by a train arriving at the station.

According to a statement filed on Wednesday, Ms Al-Balushi was really afraid at cried out in pain after his fall. The claim says the woman waited about 30 minutes for someone to help her.

The document says that while the person who pushed Al-Balushi onto the railroad was not employed or affiliated with the Toronto Transit Commission, the latter was responsible for the incident.

Ang CTT was responsible for the injuries sustained by Shamsa, as he failed to implement adequate safety protocols on the subway platform; failed to provide regular monitoring to passengers; failed to conduct adequate port surveillance; did not immediately respond to the incidentcan we read the complaint.

Shamsa Al-Balushi’s lawyers said he broke a rib when he fell on the subway tracks and continues to suffer chronic back and neck pain, as well as physical and emotional trauma and insomnia.

His only option was transportation

Shamsa has had and continues to incur medical costs, including but not limited to costs for medication, therapy, rehabilitation, medical treatment and other forms of care.the claim says, adding that Ms Al-Balushi is still in the period test in his new job and not eligible for benefits from his employer.

Ang CTT is the only transportation option of Shamsa. He does not have his own car and cannot afford to take a taxi or carpoolindicates a complaint. Shamsa’s continued hope in CTT significantly contributed to the deterioration of his mental health since the incident.

A spokesman for CTT the transit operator said without commenting on the court cases before the courts.
