The -5 of Bielsa’s second year at Athletic

One of the common characteristics of Athletic’s league career at San Mamés over the last decade lies in the fact that the lions have always finished with more goals for than against except on one occasion. You have to go back to the 2012-13 season, the second and last of Bielsa, to find a negative coefficient between the difference in goals scored at home and goals conceded.

Athletic signed that League 22 goals and conceded 27. That -5 is the only negative that has occurred during these last campaigns.

This season, with Marcelino as coach, the lions have finished with 29 goals for and 18 against at home. A +11 overcome with Valverde in the 2015-16 and 16-17 (+18) and 13-14 (+19) Leagues.
