Made it critical. The water returned almost to the gentleman’s respiratory tract, we had a good Samaritan hold himadded Eastman Fire Department Lieutenant Réjean Bouthillier.

This good Samaritan was Karine Lareau, the first person to arrive at the scene of the accident. The latter has been driving trucks for almost a year. Previously, he was a paramedic for 20 years. When he saw the car lying in the ditch, he knew immediately that the time was near.

Usually in canals like that, if people get stuck, they will drown. Thirty seconds later he was deadhe pointed out.

Another trucker stopped to ask for help as he smashed the driver’s side window with a hammer.

He was talking about his grandchildren, he wanted to see his grandchildren, a bit panicked. All I could do, because I was stuck at the waist in the mud, so I just pulled his t-shirt to get his head out of the water, I never let him out, he drowned in the thoraxshe remarks.

All emergency responders can say the same thing. […] The important thing is to buy people’s time so they can get to the hospital safely and safely.

A quote from Karine Lareau

The first to respond then take over.

First responders were working around the driver’s window of a truck stuck in mud.

Pretty deep. When you walk in the mud, you can call up to the waist. When we made a maneuver, water entered the cabin […] The first responder descended into the mud with the gentleman in the cabin. He had mud up to his neck and worked to free the gentleman’s legs and arm so we could get him out of the vehicle, Réjean Bouthillier said. It’s pretty safe. We had to, along with the Magog firefighters, work as a team to make a slightly larger opening at roof level and at the door in order to work as a team with several pairs of weapons,

The victim had to pass their hospital examination. However, his wife confirmed to Radio-Canada that he was fine. This news is pleasing to Karine Lareau. He is alive. That’s all I can say. Now, he is with his grandchildren and his family, and he can tell them!
