The Ontario Police Department is investigating after a traffic accident

The Ontario Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is appealing for witnesses to the events leading up to a serious accident that occurred following provincial police intervention on Friday morning north of Peterborough.

According to the account provided by SIU, an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer in an unmarked vehicle tried to arrest the driver of a black sedan for passing a stopped school bus with a flashing light in Selwyn Township around 8:15 am

The driver of the sedan fled and collided with another vehicle on Buckhorn Road in the 11th Line and 12th Line area.continuation of the Unit, in a press release on Saturday.

Three people were seriously injured

The 34-year-old driver of the crashed car and his two young children were taken to hospital, one of whom was diagnosed with serious injuries.

The driver of the sedan, a 44-year-old man, and his passenger were seriously injured.
