The website Winnipeg Cycling Bingo (New window) was created by Steve Lambert and his son Julien Bertazzo Lambert. It offers 25 places listed for cycling enthusiasts.

This idea was born from a simple discussion. I was next to my son at my mom’s house and he was holding his laptop. I told him I wanted to do some kind of bingo for cyclists in Winnipeg, but I didn’t know howsaid Steve Lambert.

About 25 minutes later, the base of the site was built, he added.

In total, it took us a weekend, said Julien Bertazzo Lambert, who is studying computer science in Toronto. The site is not very complicated: there are three buttons and the site offers random routes.

Global secure circuits

A total of twenty routes are offered. Julien Bertazzo Lambert oversaw the technical issues with the construction of this site. His father, Steve, provided tour ideas, photos and descriptions along with the locations. He also made maps that precisely indicated the route.

Most routes are safe and follow the route of the Winnipeg bike lanes. There are ways to get around Winnipeg using safe tracks and trails for milessaid Steve Lambert.

It’s important, I think, to discover the trails that are there because there are some, like running along Bishop Grandin, that allow you to ride for miles while isolated from vehicles.

However, some existing tracks are not connected to each other, as the Manitoba capital is still building its network.

Therefore, Steve Lambert warns that not all routes are suitable for families. There are sections where the track is not separate from traffic, and this is for some blocks.

However, when this is the case, the roads traversed are usually not very busy.

Courses approximately twenty kilometers to… 131 km

The site itself is very simple. It consists of three buttons, accompanied by 25 squares with a picture and a brief description of the area mentioned.

It was such an exercise for meexplains Julien Bertazzo Lambert, who has already worked on larger projects as part of his study.

This one is very small and I want to see if I can do it quickly, without much codeHe added.

The result is less effective. Once on site, Winnipeg amateur cyclists have the choice between assigning a random route or a circuit that forms a loop. As for the length of the trips, it ranges from about fifteen kilometers to… 131 km.

That is the choice hard core, office of Steve Lambert. This route includes all 25 squares offered on the site.

There are some very beautiful places and very beautiful trails in Winnipeg.

The father and son also created a special section of the site, a Hall of Famewhere the names of those who will do 131 km in a day will be registered.

They also plan to translate the site into French, in order to offer a bilingual version. I want to have a bilingual site. I will ask my son when he returns from Toronto in Junepromise of Steve Lambert.
