The Electoral Commission for Women’s Professional Football, as we already anticipated yesterday in Sports world, recognized yesterday afternoon Beatrice Alvarez as the only candidate and nine president of women’s football.
An acknowledgment that was not exempt from an appeal that was presented yesterday regarding the recognition of the new head of women’s employers. Appeal that was dismissed by the three members of the aforementioned Electoral Commission.

The brief of allegations, as this newspaper has learned, was presented by the candidacy formed by María Teixidor, former director of the Barcelona Football Club, and the lawyer Reyes Bellver; and that it was based on a possible lack of equality “of the candidates when it comes to running for election.”
However, the three members chose to dismiss this appeal, received in a timely manner, considering that the appellants are not “legitimized to appeal because they are not part of the procedure.”
In other words, the couple formed by María Teixidor and Reyes Bellver, once they have not obtained the four endorsements necessary to be able to compete in the electoral process for the presidency of the women’s professional league, are not entitled to appeal. It would have been different if this pre-candidacy, like the other two formed by Marí Tato or the one headed by Ainhoa Tirapu, had reached this minimum quorum of four endorsements. At that time they would have already been part of the procedure and if they would be entitled to appeal.
Once it has been rejected, this means that the candidacy formed by Beatriz Alvarez and Rubén Alcaine, president of the Association of Women’s Clubs, is fully validated, and that he joins the candidacy as vice president.
Once this step has been taken, the following will be the constitution of the Delegate Commission that will mean the effective start-up of the league. The next step, and imminently, will be to determine the headquarters from where the new structure will work. Here the CSD will have a very important role, which in these first years will make a significant economic investment to start this new competition.
