A man was shot on the boulevard des Laurentides, in the Vimont district, in Laval, on Wednesday night. According to Radio-Canada, Bernard Cherfan, who police consider close to Frédérick Silva, was recently convicted of three homicides.

In June 2015, Cherfan escaped an assassination attempt, still in Laval. On Wednesday night, he was shot in the head by a gunshot.

He helped Frédérick Silva go into hiding after his failed assassination attempt on Andrew Scoppa, a mafia clan leader, in February 2017, in a building in downtown Montreal.

The Sûreté du Québec is responsible for the criminal investigation into this murder.
