The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) said it has already begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the serious injury sustained by a 61-year-old man after falling from an overpass Thursday morning in Ottawa.

officers from the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched just after midnight Thursday morning to the Highway 417 overpass on Ave.When the first officer arrived, the man climbed on the guardrail and held on to a panel. The officer contacted the man for a moment, before he fell on the highway below.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
Two investigators and an investigator specializing in forensic science were assigned to the file.
