Three Winnipeg firefighters were injured in response on College Avenue Tuesday morning as they tried to control the fire. They were taken to the hospital.
Two of the sappers are in a stable state of health, while the third is in an unstable situation, can we read in a press release
For reasons of confidentiality, the City of Winnipeg Department of Communications cannot comment further on the type of damages.
The fire started in a vacant one -and -a -half -story home at the 300 College Avenue address.
Firefighters were called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The fire also spread to nearby residences.
The first home hit was said to be total loss, while the second home suffered extensive attic damage, in addition to other water and smoke damage.
Sixteen occupants of the second residence had to be evacuated and had to be temporarily relocated.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
