In New Brunswick, Riley Phillips, an 18-year-old from Moncton, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Joedin Leger, also 18.
A large -scale police operation took place on April 25 at a residence on Logan Lane in Moncton. Police went to the scene after being informed that gunshots were being fired outside.
An 18-year-old boy was shot and taken to hospital where he died of his wounds. The victim was identified as Joedin Leger.
Riley Phillips was arrested June 9 for a case unrelated to the death of Joedin Leger. However, the investigation determined that he was involved in this homicide.
He appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Tuesday, where he was charged with first degree murder.
He remains in custody until his next court appearance on June 27.
