Kheira Hamraoui breaks her silence

After many months of silence, Kheira Hamraoui has decided to speak for the first time in an interview she has given to the newspaper L’Équipe in which she recounts the anguish with which she experienced the attack she suffered in early November at the hands of two hooded men and the subsequent consequences in a PSG women’s locker room divided and frayed by several episodes, many of which date back to that moment.

His memories of that night

“I experienced an attack with brutal violence. Two unknown men took me out of the car I was traveling in to hit me on the legs with iron bars. That night I really thought I was going to stay there. I tried to protect myself as much as I could, but I screamed in pain. It lasted five minutes, and it was excruciating. I have a very painful memory.”

don’t understand the reasons

“I led a quiet life as a professional, together with my family and my friends. Today I feel mainly injustice, but also sadness. I am tormented by many questions: “Why me? Why so much violence? I need everything to come out in the open so I can calm down.”

Your recovery

“I went back to training three or four weeks after the attack. It was the best way to heal the pain and suffering. I worked three times more outside than inside the field. I needed that balance so I wouldn’t sink. My performances were also good and after all this sacrifice, I was even called up to come back to the French team.”

The treatment of his companions

“The locker room was locked. The atmosphere was strained. The girls were torn between incomprehension, fear and anger. The vast majority supported me, like many club staff. My recovery would have been much more difficult without them. I also want to thank my family and friends plus leagles who have been by my side throughout this ordeal.”

His accusation against Aminata Diallo

“I am not talking about the judicial investigation, I do not want to participate in this media court. I was heard by the investigators and I hope that justice sheds light on this case.”

In the spotlight

“I was the subject of a smear campaign to destabilize me. This time it was my turn. There were others in the past and tomorrow they will point to another. It’s sad, and it’s not easy to live with. Thousands of journalists, fans, bloggers or youtubers have spoken without knowing anything.

Eric Abidal

“Many false things have been said. This served to fuel the controversy, and I condemn it. I ask for a little decency and that you respect my privacy and private life. The Abidal issue has nothing to do with this case or with the aggression of which I was a victim. I think it was a smokescreen designed to keep us from the truth.”

PSG’s role

“The club has put in place measures to protect and help me. I have a contract until June 2023 and I am available for the next season. My passion and desire are intact.”
