40 years from the Malvinas, a book puts the focus of the magazine El Gráfico at the center

The 40th anniversary of the War of the Malvinas was celebrated on 2 April and on 10 June a new anniversary of the Reaffirmation of rights on the Malvinas Islands was commemorated. Amidst many memories and tributes, Alfredo Bernardi was encouraged to focus on the work of the sports journalists of the legendary El Gráfico magazine and the Atlántida editorial line.

The book, published by Dedalo, reconstructs in 120 pages the iconographic change on the cover, the editorials of the magazine and the journalistic coverage. Not just football, just before the World Cup in Spain, but other sports as well.

The Chart and the Malvinas. sports journalism in wartime, It is a book that transports the reader to those times, with Argentine athletes who distinguished themselves abroad and a national team that had to face the 82 World Cup as a world champion in the middle of the war. It analyzes the behavior of the magazine El Gráfico in the context of Editorial Atlántida and the role of the journalists who have worked there. Furthermore, it makes a historical review of this emblematic vehicle which was about to turn 100 years before its definitive closure.

With a prologue by Ezequiel Fernández Moores, this journalistic investigation provides a key perspective for keeping active the memory of what happened four decades ago.
