The aggravated assault case was replaced by a murder case. The victim of the attack, René Leclerc, died of his injuries.
The man was the originator of a violent attack with an ax that took place on the road towards Aiguebelle, in the Cléricy sector, on June 10.
Philippe Leclerc has a long legal track record, including convictions for possession of narcotics, dangerous driving and driving while prohibited.
The 29-year-old Rouynorandien also faces charges of carrying weapons for a dangerous purpose and violating conditions.
Following the threatening cases in January, the conditions of his release included not having a weapon.
He remains incarcerated pending the investigation into his release.
Philippe Leclerc will reappear on June 23 at the Rouyn-Noranda courthouse.
