Toby Salin, an experienced member of Whistler’s volunteer search and rescue team, was found dead Saturday in a remote area southeast of Pemberton.
The volunteer had worked with the Whistler Rescue Team for eight years and was last seen Thursday. Team president Brad Sills has confirmed Toby Salin’s death.

Brad Sills explains that Toby Salin worked diligently on almost [toutes] the tasks we’ve had since [qu’il nous avait rejoint]. It’s really sad and he will be sorely missed.he adds.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Toby Salin had been missing for three days, prompting a massive effort to find him in the outback around Pemberton. The RCMP
could not be reached on Sunday for comment on the presumed cause of death.The British Columbia Search and Rescue Association said Toby Salin will be missed by many in the wilderness rescue volunteer community.
