A 26-year-old man from Sherbrooke will face justice for allegedly assaulting his spouse.

Around 12:15 a.m. Monday night, the man stabbed his wife in the abdomen.

The woman was taken to hospital to treat her injuries. The authorities do not fear for his life.
We located the suspect nearby through witnesses. He had fled on foot. We found him shirtless in the streetexplains Benoit Pellerin.
The SPS has opened an investigation.
The suspect spent the night behind bars. Charges of assault with a weapon could be filed against him.
