An agreement in principle has been reached regarding the renewal of the collective agreement for 6,000 employees of Revenu Québec, members of the Syndicat de la fonction publique et parapublique du Québec (SFPQ).
These 6,000 union members are precisely completing a round of votes to obtain a 10-day strike mandate to be exercised at the appropriate time. The tour is due to end in a few hours, Thursday.
The tentative agreement was reached early Wednesday morning. It will first have to be submitted to a body made up of around fifty delegates, the negotiating council of the SFPQ
. If these delegates accept the agreement in principle, it will then be presented to the members of the SFPQ in the next weeks. These 6,000 workers are technicians, information clerks and office workers in general.
As the holding of meetings and strike votes is practically over, the result of Thursday’s compilation will be kept under seal, the time to know the fate that will be reserved for the agreement in principle, indicated the SFPQ
.Salary was the main point in dispute.
The contents of the tentative agreement were not disclosed. The union keeps the scoop for its members.
