Busy start to the week for Granby police officers

Granby police have had a busy start to the week, as they arrested two young offenders in two separate cases on Tuesday and Wednesday, prevention officer Marc Farand confirmed.

Tuesday noon, the police arrested a 23-year-old man at Daniel-Jonhson Park following an investigation that began in May. The offender allegedly sold products of THC for vaping to minors, says Marc Farand.

The man appeared on Wednesday and faces three counts of selling cannabis to youths under 18, possession of cannabis with intent to sell and possession of methamphetamine. The investigation into his case continues, and more charges could be filed, according to the police. The man must undergo a psychological evaluation and return to court in early July.

In a completely different case, a 20-year-old man was arrested at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. A citizen reported to Granby police that an individual was searching vehicles parked in the area of ​​Saint-Charles and des Écuyers streets. The police located the twenty-something a little further thanks to descriptions given by witnesses.

The young man was known to the Granby police. He was due to appear Wednesday afternoon. A dozen citizens have already reported thefts from cars in this area, and law enforcement invites all other potential victims to contact them. Marc Farand also recommends that Granby residents lock their car doors to avoid such thefts.
