The Bureau of Independent Investigations (BEI) closed its investigation into the death of a 32-year-old man in Pont-Rouge in December, following the DPCP’s decision not to file a case against the police involved.
On Wednesday, December 15, police were called from the Sûreté du Québec to intervene with a 32-year-old man in crisis at a property located on Grand Capsa road.
The man, who was not well and allegedly refused to cooperate, according to
EIB, then took refuge in a noose of grain found on his property. And there he fell to his death.ang assigned 6 investigators to clarify this eventaccording to the statement from font fonts.
EIB -whose mission is to investigate all cases in which a person, other than a police officer on duty, has died, sustained serious injury or been injured by a gun used by a police officer during a police intervention-He also collected the testimony of three civilian witnesses, including two paramedics. The content of all the interviews was submitted to the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP) who then decided not to file cases against the police officers involved.
