Digital books are increasingly present in libraries and schools. They are becoming more and more interactive and popular. In addition to being affordable, they sometimes offer videos, auditory teaching tools and audiovisual animation. But is this the best option for our children? Speech therapist Agathe Tupula Kabola believes that paper books will be more favorable to child development. They will bring more benefits in terms of concentration, general understanding of the text and socialization.
That said, although some studies are still divided on the harmful effects of digital books, others are finding positive effects.
