Ontario Liberals want to end long -term care for income

Ontario Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca has announced a strategy for seniors that guarantees “home care first” and aims to eliminate long-term care for profit by 2028.

Mr Del Duca said the pandemic had become a wake-up call that the institutionalization of the elderly through long-term care he called one of the big mistakes of 20at century.

The Liberals Home Care Guarantee promises to give 400,000 more seniors access to home care over the next four years and will raise funding for the system by $ 2 billion by an annual 10%.

Liberals also promise to expand and make the Seniors’ Home Security Tax Credit permanent and make the Ontario Caregiver Tax Credit refundable, tax -free and payable throughout the year.
