A 2nd flight carrying Ukrainian refugees arrived in Montreal

The second chartered flight carrying 352 Ukrainian refugees arrived Sunday morning at Montreal’s Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport.

The flight from Poland landed before 11 am Ukrainian nationals were received by members of their families. Some curious people also came to show their support.

The president of the Quebec section of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC), Michael Shwec, who says he is Satisfied for this acceptance, thanked the federal and provincial governments, as well as the City of Montreal.

Mr. also praised. Shwec the support provided by Quebecers to the Ukrainian community, as evidence of the many donations offered to associations working for the integration of refugees in the province.

The people of Quebec have become extremely generous.

This flight is the second of three that the federal government has chartered to bring Ukrainian refugees into the country. The first landed last Monday in Winnipeg and the third is expected in Halifax on June 2nd.

Federal Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said the three flights are expected to take several hundred refugees from the 92,000 Ukrainians authorized for emergency stays in Canada.
