Québec solidaire (QS) has announced that Maïtée Labrecque-Saganash will run for the party nomination to ride in Ungava due to the general election to be held on October 3. The announcement was made on Sunday by two party spokesmen, Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois and Manon Massé, at the Phi Center in Montreal.
Si Ms. Labrecque-Saganash, the son of former MP Romeo Saganash, is an author, Indigenous rights activist and member of the Cree Nation. If she wins the party nomination and is then elected next October, she will be the first Indigenous woman elected to the National Assembly.
He has been an activist for many years for Indigenous rights, people’s self -determination and social justice.
